About
Youth Assisting Youth (YAY) supports at-risk and newcomer children and youth in Toronto and York Region. We help them to find their way by pairing them with an older youth mentor who can offer support and guidance. Our goal is to help the children in our community feel more confident in themselves and to make a lifelong friend that changes their lives forever!
Volunteer Opportunities
- Peer Mentor: Spend 3 hours a week with youth (6-15) and be a friend they can rely on. Help them build their confidence by providing support and guidance, and create happy memories as you do all sorts of fun things together! Mentors must be able to maintain a match for at least one year.
- Steering Committee Member: We want youth ages 16-29 years of age that live in Toronto or the York Region who want to make a difference in their community. This steering committee will get together to come up with exciting new projects and opportunities to empower members of their community to become more civically involved.
