About the Yellow Door
Our vision is to empower older adults and young people to initiate and engage in community and creative projects that promote social inclusion, combat urban isolation across all generations, and spark positive societal change.
Volunteer Opportunities
- Generations Program (2+ hours per week over 4+ month period)
- Volunteers can sign up for: friendly visits/phone calls, accompaniments, running errands, and helping with technology.
- Wellness Group (2+ hours per week over 4+ month period)
- Responsibilities include planning sessions with the coordinator, setting up supplies, welcoming new/existing participants, facilitating discussion, offering guidance/skills/lessons, cleaning up at the end of the activity.
- Phone Call Volunteer (1-2 hours per week)
- Call members to let them know about our weekly activities, upcoming special events, and even to reach out for a friendly chat.
- Illustrator (Flexible)
- Join a small team of volunteer graphic designers working on improving the YDs brand (defining fonts, our colors, style, etc).
- Outreach / Communications (2+ hours per week)
- Responsibilities include producing thoughtful and meaningful social media content by working with the Executive Director to fully understand the mission, voice, and goals of the organization.
