About
The Good Guides seeks to develop a positive relationship with at-risk communities by connecting with youth and their families by engaging in social activities. The Good Guides aims to serve our local community by becoming leaders and working with at-risk youth to become self-motivated, empowered, and develop strong social skills to encourage them to reach their full potential.
Volunteer Opportunities
Some of our programs include:
- Co-op Placements: The Good Guides actively recruits co-op and placement students from both the secondary and post-secondary levels. These students join our team and become the community coordinators for their respective areas. While having the full backing of our organization, these students have the opportunity to create, develop, and execute initiatives and events in their communities.
- Youth Drop-in: The Good Guides are slated to launch a weekly drop-in session located within the community. The sessions will include various activities such as workshops, sports, homework help and much more. Only through personal relationships can a sense of individual responsibility be reestablished to give youth the commitment to follow through on the path to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
- Perspective Excursions: While participating in the drop-in sessions, youth will be allowed to create, organize and execute various trips. This unique approach will enable our youngsters to witness that anything is possible. Finding an excursion, mapping out the necessary steps and executing, will instill vitally essential traits that will then translate into all aspects of life.
