About Santropol Roulant
The Roulant is a community food hub that brings people together through various programs, activities, & services. Our Meals-on-Wheels program is at the heart of the organization. It responds to the increasing need for greater food security among the elderly, but also to the shared desire, as manifested by our volunteers, to build a rich & healthy social fabric.
Volunteer Opportunities – Volunteers 15 and under* must be accompanied by a parent / guardian
- Morning kitchen shift
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 9:30am – 12:30pm
- Work with a Roulant community cook and a team of other volunteers to prepare food for the meal of the day and for upcoming days.
- Afternoon kitchen shift
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 1:30pm – 4:30pm
- Package the daily meal for the meals-on-wheels program and prepare ingredients for coming days.
- Kitchen prep shift
- Thursdays, 1:30 – 4:30pm
- Help prepare ingredients for upcoming meals-on-wheels deliveries.
- Meal deliveries
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 2:45 – 6:30pm
- Help deliver warm meals by bike, car, public transit, or on foot to members of the community living with a loss of autonomy.
