Parkinson Society British Columbia provides vital support to the Parkinson’s community through educational programs, advocacy, public awareness, and community outreach. The Society receives no government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of individual donors, members, corporations, foundations and the dedicated efforts of volunteers.
Volunteer Opportunities
Moving Forward Together – Provincial Conference
Moving Forward, Together will foster an educational and inspirational space for enriching the connection between people with Parkinson's, carepartners, friends, and healthcare professionals. The return of this much-anticipated event will feature prominent local, and national presenters who will speak to on topics related to the treatment and management of Parkinson’s and its associated challenges. The conference will include two morning plenaries and eight afternoon breakout sessions, which aim to offer a diversified itinerary for all attendees, from researchers to individuals living with Parkinson’s.
Volunteer Positions – Richmond
We need volunteers on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Moving Forward, Together will be taking place at Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport (8181 Cambie Rd., Richmond, BC) Volunteers are needed for the following positions:
- Parking Volunteers: 7:30am – 10:00am
- Registration Table Volunteers: 7:30am – 10:15am
- Lobby Greeter: 7:30am – 10:00am
- Breakout Session Door Greeters: 11:45am – 4:15pm
- Breakout Session Roamers: 11:45am – 4:15pm
- Wellness Room Greeters/Monitors: 11:45am – 4:15pm
Qualifications
Outgoing personality with good interpersonal skills and the ability to commit for a full shift.
Benefits & Recognition
Volunteers will receive food and beverages. A confirmation letter for volunteer hours worked will also be available upon request.
Time commitment: 4.5 hours total
