The Ronald McDonald House in Montreal is a temporary, low-cost residence for parents from remote areas (over 55 km) who have a sick child in need of care in a Montreal children's hospital.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, have no prior criminal history, and agree to a minimum commitment of 3 months and 3 hours per week. The following positions are:
- Pastries: Bridor offers us ready-to-bake pastries; just put them at four. The smell of freshly baked pastries brings a lot of comfort to families.
- Decorations: We have decorations for the various holidays such as Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, etc. The decorations are reminiscent of the comforts of home.
- Receptionist (18 years and over): The volunteers at the reception answer the phone, receive the families, give information, visit the rooms upon departure.
- Maintenance of the Manor (interior and exterior): Volunteers participate in the maintenance of common areas with resident parents.
- Weekend volunteer: The weekend volunteer stays at the Manor and sees to all the daily operating activities during his service.
