About
Kids Up Front (Calgary) is a registered charity, providing enriching experiences to deserving kids across southern Alberta for 22 years! These experiences provide barrier free access to a variety of opportunities such as live sporting events, theatre performances, cultural workshops, concerts, and access to educational classes.
Kids Up Front recipients (children and youth 18 years of age and under) are part of diverse populations, including but not limited to Indigenous people, persons with disabilities, newcomers to Canada and refugees, single-parent families, BIPOC communities, queer and trans communities, schools in marginalized areas, low-income households, families fleeing domestic violence, isolated rural communities, women’s shelters, and to those facing critical health challenges or illness.
Volunteer Opportunities
General Volunteer Program
Kids Up Front has rewarding opportunities available for anyone who wants to get involved and support our charity through volunteering. We are always looking for volunteers to help run special events, fundraisers, complete deliveries, sell 50-50s, and much more! The time commitment to this program is very flexible. As we send out volunteering opportunities, you can choose to sign up for the events that work with your schedule.
Suite Ambassador Program
This amazing program was started with the endorsement of the Calgary Flames, Calgary Hitmen, Calgary Roughnecks, and the Saddledome Executive Suites department. Kids Up Front Calgary launched the Suite Ambassador Program so kids could watch a hockey game, lacrosse game or concert AND do it from a luxury suite! The Suite Ambassador meets the group at the location, brings them to the suite, hangs out with the kids and families in the suite, and ensures the event is a success. These Suite Ambassadors are Kids Up Front’s eyes and ears at all Saddledome events! All Suite Ambassadors are required to obtain both a Vulnerable Sector Check and a Child Intervention Check as well as complete a Kids Up Front code of conduct and take part in Suite Ambassador training with one of our staff members prior to attending a suite. Once your Suite Ambassador application process has been approved, you will also be invited to volunteer at our Kids Count special events throughout the year.
