Volunteer Opportunities
JASAChat:
At JASA, we are particularly affected by COVID-19 crisis. The 40,000 older New Yorkers who rely on us are more at risk both from the virus itself as well as being isolated in their homes.
In March 2020, we launched the JASAChat program to connect volunteers with seniors for a weekly phone or video chat. The response has been remarkable — to date, we've made over 650 matches. True, long lasting friendships have formed.
JASANextGen Teens and JASANextGen Young Leaders:
JASANextGen is a volunteer advocacy program led by the next generation to educate and advocate on issues relating to older adults. JASANextGenners join monthly meetings to learn about a range of topics from food insecurity to elder abuse, help raise critical funds for our annual JASAEats campaign, take lead in volunteer projects, and participate in mini-internships.
Corporate Volunteer Opportunities:
JASA is proud to offer a wide variety of corporate volunteer opportunities ranging from virtual events, in-office events, donation drives, team building activities, in-person events at a JASA location, to gift packaging!
