About
Friendship Circle provides assistance and support to individuals with special needs and their families by providing recreational, social, educational, and vocational programming. In addition to helping those in need, the Friendship Circle enriches its vast network of volunteers by enabling them to reap the rewards of selfless giving.
Volunteer Opportunities
- Weekly Volunteer Buddy – During the school year, we run regular programming in the evenings. Our weekly programs take place Monday-Thursday evenings from 5:00-7:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00-3:00 pm at our centre. Volunteers are paired with neurodivergent peers for a range of social and recreational activities. (Over 80% of activities take place outdoors, COVID protocols and guidelines always followed)
- End of Summer Volunteer Camp Counselor – We are looking for dynamic and friendly volunteers to join us at our annual End of Summer Camp! With single-day or full-week opportunities available, our camp has participants with special needs paired up one-on-one with volunteers to enjoy fun daily activities together with them!
- Virtual One-on-One Hangouts on Zoom – We are always looking for friendly, warm, and kind individuals to join some of our participants who are still staying home at weekly Zoom friendship hangouts.
- Special Events, Deliveries & Packaging – For special events, we need volunteers to help package and deliver packages. This is a low – to no contact volunteering opportunity.
More opportunities are always coming up and becoming available on a more occasional basis, please reach out if this is what interests you!
