About
Father Emmet Johns, better known as Pops, founded the organization along with a handful of volunteers dedicated to improving the lives of homeless youth. Dans la rue has the goal of fulfilling the vision of "Pops" to attend to the immediate needs of young people and to work with them so that they can acquire the skills and resources needed to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.

Donors and friends of Dans la rue are welcome to make a difference in their community by helping to prepare the hot dogs that are handed out during the Van’s nightly rounds.
Every Wednesday evening, we host groups of 6 to 10 volunteers (18+) at our Day Centre to prepare between 700 to 1000 hot dogs that will be served from the Dans la rue Van.
Volunteers are asked to come in from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to get everything ready. They will be given a tour of the Day Centre and the Van at the end of their shift.
