À propos
FORED BC has deep roots, created by volunteers and BC foresters in government, industry and NGOs in 1925. They established such programs as the Biggest Tree in BC, now maintained by UBC. Historically, FORED volunteers travelled Canada by train, teaching communities about forest fire prevention, also known as “FireSmart”. Now, we are an independent, non-partisan charity that offers educational tools about the environmental, cultural and economic values of our forests and other natural resources.
Les possibilités de bénévolat
The role of Marketing and Social Media volunteer will be to assist the staff in promoting the group’s work, activities, contests, and growing our audiences across our social channels through compelling visuals, links to media stories, tagging influencers, using hashtags, videos and messaging in Canva or other tools. This means using legally obtained visuals with appropriate copyright. Ideally, many of those new audiences would also consider supporting the organization for as little as $5 a month as a result of your compelling work!
With oversight, the volunteer will co-ordinate social media activity across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, with metrics reporting. As we must ensure our educational activities are non-partisan as a registered charity, please note this role is not suitable for an activist or lobbyist.
