Our Back to School Essentials & more initiative is a meaningful volunteer opportunity dedicated to supporting primary school students in need. This event is a collaboration between Keen to Help and the Welcome Collective, who work with various schools and educational foundations to ensure the backpacks are delivered to set them up on the right foot for the school year.
Our goal is to provide every student with the tools they need for a successful and confident start to the academic year. We've designed this event to be both purposeful and fun, while bringing you back to the time where you were just a student returning to school after a long summer break. Here are the following activities we'll have planned:
Reflection and sharing: Take a moment to reflect and share with your team about a teacher or mentor who made a positive impact on your life.
Decorating Binders: Think back to the binder you used to keep all of your important worksheets and projects. You'll be creating a similar "vault" for a student.
Pencil Cases: Ensure the pencil case is fully stocked with all the necessary supplies including pencils, pens, markers, erasers, pencil sharpeners, & more.
Gift Bags: Fill a gift bag which will include a personalized plush toy, a fidget toy to help with focus, and a decorated piggy bank that you will paint and assemble, and a custom Avatar card.
This isn’t just a team-building exercise; it’s an opportunity to strengthen bonds while contributing to a positive cause. Join us in making a real difference in the lives of students as they prepare for a new school year!
